JOB CREATORS

  • Maintain Chapter 313 and other economic development programs aimed at increasing business investment, relocation and expansion in Texas​
     
  • Level the litigation playing fireld in lawsuits against owners and operators of company vehicles ensuring they are based on facts and evidence of an event.

PROVIDE ECONOMIC PROTECTIONS FOR EMPLOYERS

  • Support measures to protect employer who comply with federal and state guidelines from litigation stemming from open ended liability due to COVID-19 exposure of future pandemics.
     
  • Preempt cities from regulating private employment practices including hiring, scheduling, wages, benefits, etc.

IMPROVE & EXPAND TRANSPORTATION INFRASTRUCTURE
FOR RECOVERY & GROWTH

  • Restore public-private authority for major transportation infrastructure projects in Texas through the utilization of the Texas Comprehensive Development Agreement authority which expired in 2017.

PROVIDE A DIGITAL & TECHNOLOGY LANDSCAPE FOR PROSPERITY & GROWTH

  • Support development of a statewide Broadband Plan that provides access for all Texans yet has key characteristics including consistency with free market principles creating economic activity and increasing statewide competitiveness. 
     
  • Support encouraging business efforts to develop and disclose comprehensive, market-driven policies regarding privacy and information practices and oppose efforts that would create a "patchwork-quilt" of state laws that impede growth of internet commerce.

MAINTAIN COMMITMENT TO PUBLIC EDUCATION & WORKFORCE SKILLS

  • Protect the work and maintain the commitments made to education through HB 3.  
     
  • Protect district level funding with a one-year hold harmless to districts relative to attendance.
     
  • Pause A-F accountability rating system for accountability and funding for the duration of COVID-19 pandemic.
     
  • Maintain/expand opportunities to access workforce training for retooling and upskilling current workforce
     
  • Maintain formula fund from the 86th Legislative Session for public institutions of higher education.
